I’m Samantha Darling, a Montreal-based organizer, writer and filmmaker. I offer practical assistance with writing projects, personal administration and difficult family transitions. Think of me as a big sister for hire: resourceful, discreet and willing to tackle the awkward jobs.
 

Book & Writing Projects

Have a book in your head, scattered notes or a manuscript that has stalled?

I can help you organize your material, develop an outline, plan the work and keep making progress. Whether you’re writing fiction, a memoir or a family history, we’ll identify where you need help and agree on the tasks I’ll take on.

Support can include:

• Organizing notes, research and drafts

• Developing a structure and writing schedule

• Reviewing drafts and discussing revisions

• Preparing photographs, letters and documents for a family-history book
   

Support Through Difficult Family Events

A funeral, a difficult family visit or sorting a relative’s home can involve more decisions and arrangements than you want to handle alone.

I can accompany you, help keep track of practical tasks and work alongside you afterwards. We can sort belongings, organize paperwork, identify keepsakes and coordinate with other services where needed.

You remain in charge of the decisions. I provide practical assistance and company. This is not counselling, personal care or legal representation.
 

Project Organization & Follow-Through

If a personal or creative project has become an intimidating collection of unfinished tasks, I can help you get it moving.

Together, we can:

• Break the project into manageable steps

• Organize documents, information and deadlines

• Research options and coordinate arrangements

• Work through outstanding tasks

• Set up a system you can continue using
   

How We Work Together

We start with a free 15-minute introductory call. You explain what you need, and we discuss whether my skills suit the job.

Before work begins, we agree on the tasks, timing and budget.

My rate is $75 CAD per hour, with a three-hour minimum for in-person appointments. Any travel or other expenses are agreed in advance.

Based in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest. In-person availability depends on location; writing and project support are also available remotely.
