La Périchole

My mother and father were involved in reviving Offenbach’s La Périchole in Paris in the 1970s. A couple of photos from that production with Opéra national de Paris below.

The music of La Périchole strikes a certain chord for me, as though it’s speaking directly to my DNA.

This current production by The New York City Opera looks like it’s going to be a LOT of fun. Offenbach brings the energy and fun.
